2.2 BATTERY HANDLING

Battery Inspection

Before installation, inspect the 3V lithium battery for any

cracks, dents, leakage, or bulging. Never install a defective

battery in the ATPIAL.

Battery Installation

WARNING

Ensure the Mode Selector is turned to the O (OFF)

position before attempting to install, remove, or

replace batteries.

CAUTION

Do not ship or store the ATPIAL with battery

installed.

Unscrew the battery cap and install one battery with the

positive terminal facing out as shown in Figure 2-1. Proper

battery orientation is clearly marked on the ATPIAL housing.

Replace and firmly tighten the battery cap.
